We all know that being present is the preferred way to be. Agreed..?

It’s where we let go of thoughts and memories that keep us anchored in the past.

It’s where we shift our focus away from anxious thoughts about an unknown future.

Yup, it’s where we find stillness, ease, acceptance of what is.

But, easier said than done, right?

You’re not alone if focusing on the now feels hard..

But maybe it’s easier than you think..!

Yup, today I’m sharing my simple go-to when I need to get out of my head.

You ready..?

I sit on the floor, and CONNECT with my two furry friends.

Yup, that’s all.

I bury my hands in their fur, kiss their heads, scratch their tummies, throw their ball and simply soak up their presence.

And I’m ALWAYS rewarded.

The love and contentment they exude is palpable.

Joy and happiness flows off them.

Pure. Unconditional. Love.

In it’s purest form.

The best part is, I could do this for HOURS..! They wouldn’t protest..

But what’s most important here, is HOW IT MAKES ME FEEL.

Yup, that’s ALWAYS the yardstick.

It’s my own version of an emotional reset.

Puppy-love is the perfect antidote for any low emotional state (aka verbal rant, hissy fit or sulk).

There is simply no possible way I’ve ever been able to hold onto any grump once I get down with the furries. It’s like magic. Every time.

And we know that once our mood shifts upward, we show up differently. 

New perspectives present themselves.

We make better choices.

Which is the whole point, isn’t it?

So try it.

With ANY animal.
